Due to the devastating wildfires ravaging the Los Angeles area, the 2025 Genesis Invitational golf tournament has been relocated from Riviera Country Club to Torrey Pines in San Diego. Despite the change in venue, the tournament organizers, along with participating golfers, remain committed to supporting fire relief efforts. Genesis Motor North America has pledged significant donations and initiatives to aid those affected by the fires.
The 2025 Genesis Invitational golf tournament will be held at Torrey Pines in San Diego instead of its usual location, Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. This decision was made due to the devastating wildfires that have impacted the Los Angeles area. Despite the change in venue, supporting fire relief efforts remains a top priority for the tournament organizers and the golfers.
Pro golfer Max Homa, who hails from Valencia, California, expressed his deep concern for the affected communities. 'I've been to the area so much and I have family there and tons of friends there and I've driven those streets,' Homa said. 'When I turned on the news, I knew exactly where they were... It just hit me harder. I'm very, very proud to be from Los Angeles and I am looking forward to being a part of and continuing to watch the city rebuild and everyone come together.'Genesis Motor North America is actively demonstrating its commitment to helping those affected by the fires. They will be donating 100 of their vehicles used during the tournament to organizations supporting fire relief and families who have lost their cars. Additionally, for every birdie and eagle made during the tournament, Genesis will donate $300, and for a hole-in-one, $10,000. Ticketing fees for the Genesis Invitational will be donated to California Rises, and special California Rises merchandise will be available for purchase at the tournament with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the initiative. Fans attending the tournament are encouraged to contribute by writing postcards to first responders. Tournament director Mike Antolini emphasized the importance of supporting the communities affected by the fires. 'We really love our fans who have supported that tournament for so many years... We feel for them. We know a lot of them are affected by the fires... We're going to do everything we can to support the communities in the greater LA area... and ideally we'll be back at Riviera next year,' said Tedros Mengiste, the COO of Genesis Motor North America
