GM said back in 2021 it planned to spend $750 million on EV charging infrastructure, which included things like home chargers, workplace chargers, and public chargers throughout North America. “We think we can save up to $400 million in the original three-quarter of a billion dollars that we allocated to this, because we’ve been able to do it faster and more effectively,” Barra toldInitially, electric GM vehicles will be able to access Tesla's 12,000-unit Supercharger network through adapters starting next year. In 2025, GM cars will come with the Tesla NACS port as standard. GM says it will make an adapter available for those cars to access CCS-style chargers.
With heavy-hitters like General Motors and Ford switching to NACS, there's a strong possibility other brands will follow suit, at least for the North American market. As
