Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the collision of a Russian jet and a US drone on Tuesday follows a pattern of 'unsafe' and 'risky' actions by Russia.

When asked if he believes that the collision of the Russian jet and the U.S. drone was intentional, Milley said it's not yet known, but said that the interception of the drone was intentional. Russian officials said on Wednesday that operations were underway to collect what is left of the U.S. drone. A U.S. defense official told Fox News that the drone is property of the United States.
U.S. European Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa said in a statement on Tuesday that prior to the collision, the Russian jet dumped fuel on the U.S. drone."At approximately 7:03 AM , one of the Russian Su-27 aircraft struck the propeller of the MQ-9, causing U.S. forces to have to bring the MQ-9 down in international waters.
