Geena Davis has opened up about her experience withIn an interview with The Times ahead of her new book release,"Dying of Politeness," the 66-year-old actress shared that she stopped being offered roles after turning 40.She continued,"I’d heard about this very early on, this concept that after 40 the roles dry up. It didn’t worry me at all because I thought it wouldn’t happen to me.
"I remember getting to a point where I thought, ‘This is forced retirement. I don’t want to do less," she said."People would make up reasons why I was in fewer movies. Like after I had kids." Davis became a first-time mother at the age of 46. She and her former husband Reza Jarrahy welcomed daughter Alizeh in 2002. In 2004, she gave birth to fraternal twin sons, Kaiis and Kian.
"‘Don’t talk about it.’ Because then people will say, ‘Oh, she’s not getting any jobs. OK, well, we won’t hire her.’ So I scrupulously didn’t ever complain about it. And people have stuck to it ever since — that I took time off to have kids. That’s still the line." After 1996, she appeared in the 1999 movie"Stuart Little," its 2002 sequel"Stuart Little 2" and the 2005 direct-to-video sequel"Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild."
