The Angels banked on Brooke Van Sickle's 24-point outing from 18 attacks, two blocks, and four service aces, her highest-scoring output so far in the PVL.
The Chargers showed glimpses of comeback in the first and second sets but they struggled to find their rhythm late in the third frame as Van Sickle went hot and converted three consecutive kills, 22-16. Coming off the bench, KC Galdones hammered down a quick to inch the Angels to match point, 23-16. But Fifi Sharma converted a block point to keep the Chargers alive, 23-17. Galdones made her minutes count as she slammed in another kill to further give Petro Gazz its advantage, 24-17.
