The Gauteng Department of Health and 'the real' DR Sanele Zingelwa have opened cases against 'Dr Matthew Lani'.
The Department of Health in Gauteng has opened a criminal case against “Dr Matthew Lani”, who claimed to be a medical doctor and gave out medical advice via TikTok.released a statement which read: “Lani managed to weave his way into the system pretending to be in the employ of Helen Joseph Hospital where he moved around the hospital corridors curating content for social media.”
The department also confirmed that they worked with Matthew on 16 June 2022 on a campaign across its facilities as part of Youth Month commemorations.“The Health Professions Council of South Africa has noted with concern, a video of Mr Mathews Zingelwa-Lani which has gone viral on social media platforms. In the widely circulated video, Mr Mathews Zingelwa-Lani claims to have been authorised by the HPCSA to make and distribute his video.
