Gasoline prices climbed again in Houston and across the nation over the past week as oil rallied in commodity markets.
Gasoline averaged $3.78 a gallon in Houston on Monday, up 3 cents from a week ago and $1.26 from a year ago, according the fuel-price tracking service GasBuddy. Local gasoline prices, however, are running about 6 cents lower than a month ago.Nationally, gasoline prices rose 7 cents a gallon over the week to an average $4.17, a penny lower than a month ago, but $1.34 a gallon higher than year ago. Crude was trading lower early Monday morning down 3 percent to $101.65 a barrel.
“Gasoline prices have continued their rally in the last week with oil prices sustaining higher” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Gasoline prices could continue to see a slow but steady rise.”
