Gary Lineker’s comments about the language used by the government in relation to migrants coming to the UK has caused wide-reaching controversy.
The footballer-turned-pundit had responded to a video by Braverman on Twitter in which she called to ‘stop the boats’ with a new Illegal Migration Bill, calling it an ‘immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s.’
He even joked the BBC should double down and let Nadine Dorries present MOTD – ‘as long as they pixel out all the foreign players.’ Samuels was disgusted by Lineker’s comparison to 1930’s Germany, saying he as ‘comparing legislation to stop illegal immigration to people being gassed in chambers.’ Samuels also argued that left-wing people accuse those with a different opinion of being ‘a bigot, racist, transphobe,’ with Christian responding that he doesn’t even ‘mind bigots with their bigoted opinions, no matter how ignorant,’ as in this case he was arguing for the freedom of speech, not whether he was right.
