On Wednesday Garfield High School students planned a walkout to protest U.S. involvement in Palestine and hold a silent vigil for victims.
SEATTLE — On Wednesday in conjunction with a national walkout event, Garfield High School studentsof afternoon classes to hold a silent vigil for the lives lost during the Israel-Hamas conflict.
August, a senior at Garfield High School, planned the event with support from the Seattle chapter of the Despite the national walkout event being primarily targeted at universities, August organized the event at his high school after reaching out to student organizations such as the Black Student Union and his peers.
