Tended properly, Glen Risse says a parthenocarpic cucumber plant can yield 40 cucumbers per season.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Risse Greenhouse grows parthenocarpic cucumbers that self-pollinate. They can be grown from seed, or bought as starters.Thriving in humid greenhouse conditions, the growing of cucumbers involves the use of strings hanging from the ceiling, as demonstrated by Risse . “Each plant will get two strings. They come down at a diagonal.”
Allowing the cucumbers to grow on the ground can lead to molds and fungi. Nodes growing from the main stem eventually can see two cucumbers each.
