Police said 35-year-old Jadier Salazarmontano was drunk when he plowed into the home, trapping 40-year-old Janet Carillo underneath the car before taking off. He was arrested, but Carrillo was killed.
A Garden Grove woman was killed Sunday after a suspected DUI driver crashed into her home and trapped her beneath the car.It happened just before 2 a.m. on May 12, at the home in the 11800 block of Magnolia Street. Officers said they received multiple reports of a hit-and-run crash after a driver drove a 2019 Toyota Camry into a home and then took off.When they got there, officers said bystanders pointed them in the direction of the driver, who they found nearby.

Paramedics tried to treat her, but she died at the scene. Salazarmontano was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit of 0.08% or more causing injury, and driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, all felonies.
