Nirenberg touted the San Antonio Police Department’s hot-spot policing strategy, while Whyte pledged to “protect your safety and your neighborhood.”One Nirenberg mailer tapped into inflation anxieties by featuring a photo of a carton of eggs.“I can’t lower the price of gas, much less the price of eggs,” Nirenberg said on the other side of the mail piece.
Social-justice activists remember Nirenberg showing up at a June 2020 Black Lives Matter demonstration outside the Bexar County Courthouse and assuring police-reform activists that he was on their side.
