How far the UCLA and USC men’s basketball teams go in March could be determined by what they do in February.

Facing Washington , which the Bruins beat 74-49 a month ago, at Pauley, where they have the nation’s longest current home win streak at 19 games, gives them a chance to revive their offense and keep a half-game lead over Arizona in the Pac-12. Against better opponents at Arizona and USC the past two games, the Bruins shot poorly and turned the ball over too much. Their trajectory has to change starting tonight.
With the Pac-12 having gotten three teams into March Madness in most recent seasons, the Trojans have to finish strong in their 10 remaining regular-season games or depend on the Pac-12 tournament March 8-11 in Las Vegas to get them over the line.
