In terms of age groups, young adults show by far the most support for same-sex marriage , then middle-aged adults and then older adults . “Once opponents of legalization, Republicans have mostly come back to it,” a Gallup review of the poll reads. “Gallup’s trend illustrates that Americans’ views can shift in a relatively short time span, creating a new consensus — even as polarization on other measures intensifies.
