Thousands have taken to the streets of Newry today in protest at plans to reduce services at Daisy Hill hospital

The march left from Market Square in Newry to Daisy Hill Hospital to show their opposition to the decisions.Councillor calls for Southern Trust heads to roll as fears of staffing crisis causing needless deaths Speaking earlier this week Permanent Secretary in the Department of Health Peter May said: “The departure of consultants from Daisy Hill in recent weeks has caused deep concerns among staff and the local community.
“The ongoing intensive discussions involve the wider Health and Social Care system, reflecting the fact that Daisy Hill is an important part of NI’s hospital network.
