Over the weekend, the actor and entrepreneur's hair was sleekly pulled back into a ponytail gathered high on the back of her head and split off into three tight braids that could swing around playfully—and from the looks of it, they did, especially when she was on a boat.
With August more than halfway over, it's hard not to start getting excited about all things autumn. But Gabrielle Union would like to remind you that there's still many a sunny day to enjoy before fall, and she's got the perfect hairstyle to get you through your plans, no matter how windy or snazzy they may be.
Union, one of our favorite frequent hair switcher-uppers, posted a carousel to Instagram in which you can truly feel the relaxation through your phone screen. In some photos, she's chilling on a boat with husband Dwyane Wade in Prada sunglasses, a Monday bikini top, and L'Agence pants; in others, she's smiling with friends in a sweet, cream-colored sweater at a beachy yet polished party. “Today was the good part,” she wrote. Gathered high on the back of her head, the ponytail splits off into three tight braids that can swing around playfully—and from the looks of it, they did, especially when she was on the boat. But you know what didn't swing around on that boat? A single hair from the base of that ponytail. It is so slick, so motionless, so committed to her scalp it seems to defy several laws of physics. Needless to say, whether the rest of your summer includes plans to party on land or sea, Union's three-braid pony is a perfect option. Just be sure you've got strong-hold hairspray.
