It’s advocacy work that resonated with the Tournament of Roses Association in ultimately announcing her as grand marshal on Oct. 13 with a festive ceremony on the steps of Pasadena’s famed Tournament House with dozens in attendance. It was all on display on Monday morning, against the backdrop of a global audience and thousands along the parade route in Pasadena.
