The future of Paisley ’s police stations hang in the balance with the results of a consultation earlier this year being studied by officials.
The three-month consultation period closed in March – but police chiefs have still not come to a conclusion as to whether or not to shut the stations. There is also a dedicated St Mirren section that will follow every kick of the ball with the Buddies.In Baillieston, the public counter will be closed but the building will remain in use for policing purposes. In March, the Paisley Daily Express revealed how more than £350,000 had been spent trying to both maintain and upgrade the Mill Street police station site.
West Scotland MSP Russell Findlay has previously urged police chiefs to ensure a continued presence in Paisley.
