A Supreme Court judge rules a workplace safety investigation cannot be provided to the coroner investigating the tragedy while there is a possibility of criminal proceedings.

WorkSafe said it could not do so because it was concerned about prejudicing "any potential prosecutions" under work, health and safety laws. In his decision, Justice Geason said he was "satisfied the disclosure of the identified records" could "impede the ability of Work Health Safety, and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in turn, to fulfil its function of effectively investigating possible offences".
