Buckingham Palace has announced that Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 19

. “I think we can in some way repay that debt by carrying out the last wishes in delivering for Her Majesty the Queen’s state funeral,” he said.

On Wednesday, the coffin will be carried by gun carriage from the palace to Westminster Hall. Guns will be fired from Hyde Park. Big Ben, Britain’s iconic bell located above the country’s parliament, will toll as the procession makes its way. The service then will be held in Westminster Abbey, which can hold roughly 2,000 attendees, and is expected to be led by Dean of Westminster, David Hoyle.
