A ceremony has taken place at Fulwood Barracks to award HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medals to over 50 personnel from the British Army’s Headquarters North West 🎖️
The medal was granted to all military personnel who had five years or more reckonable service at the time of the Jubilee.
The medal was awarded to troops by Colonel Darren Doherty of the Royal Irish Regiment, Commander of HQNW, who was brought up on the Lancashire coastline after being born in California.Barry Edwards, who joined the army in 1999, said: “It’s an honour to receive a medal to mark Her Majesty’s extraordinary reign and is recognition for those who sacrifice so much to serve their country.”
