Toys R Us will be coming to the St Annes branch of WH Smith in time for Christmas
Six years on from filing for administration and closing its UK stores, one of the most recognisable businesses is coming back to the high street.
The first 23 new store locations have been announced, with one in St Annes and another in Southport. For people across the UK, more locations will be revealed later this year, the Mirror reports.Concessions of Toys R Us shops within WH Smith first started in June last year and to date, there are 39 across the country. This latest expansion will bring this number to 76 in time for the Christmas toy rush.
All 100 UK shops closed as a result - but plans for relaunch were announced in October 2022 when it landed a deal with WH Smith. Managing director of WHSmith High Street Sean Toal said: "Nearly 40 years ago, Toys R Us first came to the UK, and we take great pride in being the steward of this much-loved brand in the UK.
