Storm Babet flooding is receding across Nottinghamshire but several roads remain closed
A number of roads across Nottinghamshire remain closed today although the flooding caused by Storm Babet is now not expected to worsen. The county was braced for more flooding yesterday after a warning for heavy rain was issued by the Met Office.
Several flood warnings and flood alerts for Nottinghamshire have been removed overnight as waters recede, but some remain and localised areas of flooding are still present. The forecast for Nottinghamshire over the next few days is more settled, with some light rain in the forecast but nothing persistent.
A handful of flood alerts remain around Newark, but Retford, one of the worst-hit areas in the entire country is no longer subject to a flood alert or a flood warning.Roads closed in Nottinghamshire The following roads in the area are listed as closed or recently reopened by the Inrix traffic management system:
