Shops have been disappearing from high streets across the UK and dozens more will go this week as the retailer's operations wind down
Dozens more Wilko stores will shut their doors this week as the retailer's long history comes to an end. The retail chain went into administration last month.
It meant that stores started to close last week, with 90 now shut for good. The first two dozen closed last Tuesday, September 12, with another 28 on Thursday and a further 38 on Sunday. Further closures are expected to be announced soon. It comes despite a new deal being struck by The Range to take on the Wilko brand, website and intellectual property. It means The Range now has the option to sell Wilko products within its own stores - but the agreement did not include physical sites.
