Hazmat crews on Thursday were working to scrub diesel fuel from lanes on I-80 in Salt Lake County's East Canyon after an early-morning semi-truck crash , authorities said.
The truck jackknifed and took out four concrete jersey barriers, knocking them into the highway, bringing traffic to a halt, and ripping a hole in the truck's gas tank in the process. Hazmat was called to the scene to begin cleanup and pump the remaining fuel out of the semi so it wouldn't continue to spill when the vehicle was eventually moved.
