The FTC isn't backing down and has officially filed an appeal against the court ruling denying the regulator's request for a preliminary injunction to block the Acti-Blizz deal:
to block Microsoft from completing its $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard before the deal's July 18 deadline and the FTC's administrative case in August. Now the FTC has filed an appeal against Judge Corley's decision.The appeal will see the FTC attempt to overturn the court's ruling for the preliminary injunction.
"The District Court's ruling makes crystal clear that this acquisition is good for both competition and consumers," Microsoft president Brad Smith said on ."We're disappointed that the FTC is continuing to pursue what has become a demonstrably weak case, and we will oppose further efforts to delay the ability to move forward."
