Another week, another reason for the community to melt down in Fortnite. Before it was mechs, this time it's turbo building. Why does this keep happening?
, which has been made just a touch slower, but it’s enough to throw off the entire feel of building in the game, and everyone from casuals to pros seem to be up in arms over the change.
If that sounds familiar, it’s because this is the second time something like this has happened in the first half ofseason 10 here, as everyone has been complaining about the addition of overpowered mechs from day one, and only recently, after a full month, has Epic stepped in to make some big nerfs to them. But now some of those are offset by the fact that building just got harder.
The question everyone keeps asking is…why? Why make these huge, apple-cart overturning additions? Why change fundamental mechanics like building in the game? The “correct” answer is that Epic is trying to clumsily solve problems with the game, namely that they believe it’s too unfriendly to casual players. They said that outright about why the mech was added, and if I had to guess, the changes to turbo building are to narrow the gap between noobs and pros as well, as Epic says they want building to be more “deliberate,” whatever that means.continues to stumble through these changes, losing more and more players at a time when they can’t afford to.
