Abrams, and Damon Lindelof, Lost is a sci-fi adventure drama that follows the survivors of a plane crash as they do their best to survive on a mysterious island in the South Pacific Ocean. Lost incorporates supernatural elements to make the mysteries of the island more engaging, and isn’t short on twists and heartbreaking moments. From takes the audience into a nightmarish town in the US with one horrifying peculiarity: those who enter are trapped there. On top of that, its residents are plagued by nocturnal creatures from the surrounding forest. The residents, then, struggle to uncover the town’s secrets and find a way out. From follows Boyd Stevens , the self-appointed sheriff and de facto mayor of the town, as well as a retired US Army veteran. Stevens carries a lot of trauma, not just from the war but also from killing his wife, who had a mental breakdown and attacked some of the town’s residents. From also follows the newly arrived Matthews family, who are coping with the fact that they are now trapped and must work with the rest of the residents to survive and find a way out. From has been praised by critics for its story, performances, and tone, and now ranks among the best horror TV shows of all time. At the time of writing, From is preparing for its fourth season, to be released in 2026, but it doesn’t have an exact release date yet. How From Compares To Lost Despite their different stories, settings, and tone, From is quite similar to Lost and has often been compared to it. Both shows fall into the “mystery box” category, which are shows where the narrative centers on a secret or mystery that needs to be solved, with the clues and answers revealed gradually. Both shows have their main characters trapped in one location where they must find ways to survive and confront supernatural threats. From, however, leans more towards horror, while Lost is more of a supernatural drama, and the former focuses on the present day, while Lost goes back and forth with flashbacks to explore the characters’ lives before the plane crash. Why From Is One Of The Best Shows On TV Right Now As mentioned above, From already ranks among the best TV shows of its genre and of all time, and with good reason. While it isn’t exactly a groundbreaking story, as it has been seen before , its blend of mystery, horror, drama, and dark atmosphere has caught the attention of the audience.
