Racking up praise and sponsorships once more, Lydia Jacoby is ready for a chance to compete on the Olympic stage again.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Lydia Jacoby has been through a lot in the past three years.In 2021 she qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo where she won gold in the 100-meter breaststroke. Earning a highly-coveted medal at just 17 years old sparked overwhelming praise for Jacoby from the residents of Seward and across Alaska.Jacoby says she dealt with depressive episodes in the following years.

“It’s been really special to watch her transform and grow a lot, not just as a swimmer but a person too,” D’Amico said. “She’s gone through a lot in a short amount of time and handled a lot of adversity, unforeseen adversity, in a really healthy, positive way.”She recovered throughout her time in the University of Texas, competing for the Longhorn Swimming and Diving team.
