Olympics: Jessica Fox has made history with her second gold, becoming the most decorated Australian Olympic medalist ever, the Matildas face a nervous wait after falling short against the USA, O'Callaghan and Jack just miss 100m freestyle medals.
Kyle Chalmers has reflected on his incredible rise to be among the most decorated sprint swimmers of all-time, while suggesting he could swim on towards another Olympics.In adding to his medals from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 , Chalmers becomes the first man since Russian legend Alexander Popov to win three individual medals in the event at Olympic level.
“And then to back it up again this year. It’s so special to be an Olympian and be recognised as an Olympic champion. “... I’m so proud to be Australian and South Australian. And from a small country town of Port Lincoln. I love it.“Shout out to everyone at home who’s supported me. I’m forever grateful. Obviously I get to swim the race but there’s an army of people that allow me to do that.“
“This is not my last individual event. No no no, I’m not retiring any time soon. I love it, I think I’ll continue on as long as I possibly can,” Chalmers said.
