Lynn Joffe speaks at such a speed, and with so much information compressed into her talk, that transcribing the recorded interview with her was a rather strenuous and longwinded task. She has had a complex and interesting life, becoming a debut novelist at age 60 – a moment at which, you feel, something like an inner dam wall was breached and the extraordinary story of her protagonist came pouring out.
