Viewpoint: Celebrating Veterans Small Business Week
The U.S. Small Business Administration is celebrating National Veterans Small Business Week from Oct. 31 – Nov. 4, 2022.
The SBA is dedicated to empowering transitioning service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses through every stage of their entrepreneurship journey. SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development empowers veteran entrepreneurs with resources on access to capital, government contracting, disaster assistance, and entrepreneurial training.
The SBA also provides free entrepreneurial training programs for veterans, service-disabled veterans, and veterans interested in federal procurement. Every year, the federal government awards a portion of contracting dollars specifically to businesses owned by veterans. Also, small businesses owned by veterans may be eligible to purchase surplus property from the federal government.
