A look at the best of the fall couture collections, including selections from Dior, Schiaparelli and Fendi
The fall 2021 couture shows were full of fresh starts. They began on Monday evening in the Marais district of Paris, when Alaïa’s newly appointed creative director, Belgian designer Pieter Mulier, debuted his first collection for the French house in front of an in-person audience. The collection was made of 33 ready-to-wear looks and 10 couture looks focused on sleek, body-conscious silhouettes including a long corseted, strapless dress in black leather.
A classic Armani silhouette is reimagined in iridescent pink, topped with a jacket embroidered with feathers, sequins and crystals. A dainty floral cropped top is a delightful match for a more relaxed take on Chanel’s signature tweed skirt suit.
