Michael Cheek, a 48-year-old teacher at Billy Gene Phillips Elementary School, was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation, police said. Cheek was placed on administrative leave following the allegation and is prohibited from entering Frisco ISD property, a district spokesperson said in a statement.
“We will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement as the investigation moves forward,” the statement said. “The district takes allegations of this nature very seriously. We know that families entrust us with their children every day, and any violation of that trust is unacceptable.”“The district will continue to support Phillips Elementary during this transition to ensure instruction continues as normally as possible while a new teacher is put in place,” the statement said.Frisco police ask anyone with information regarding the case to contact the department at 292-6010. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by texting “FRISCOPD” and the tip to 847411.He was also charged with invasive visual recording in a bathroom or dressing room.
