Matthew Perry was laid to rest on Friday during a private funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in L.A., near Warner Bros. Studios where Friends was filmed. Among Perry’s loved ones in attendance were Friends costars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.Perry, who played the beloved Chandler Bing, was found dead on Oct. 28 in a hot tub at his L.A. home after playing pickleball. He was 54.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother,” they said. “Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.”Perry opened up about his struggles with addiction in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing, released on Nov. 1, 2022. He shared on the Q with Tom Power podcast in November 2022 that he hopes to be remembered for more than just his iconic sitcom character.
