Actor Matthew Perry, who gained fame for his starring role in the hit US comedy Friends, was found dead at age 54 on Saturday in a hot tub at a Los Angeles-area home, the Los Angeles Times and TMZ.com reported. Authorities rushed to a call over a cardiac arrest, emergency sources told the media. The Canadian-American actor was found in a jacuzzi with no sign of foul play, a law enforcement source told the Los Angeles Times.
There were no drugs at the scene, according to TMZ. Perry was best known for playing Chandler Bing in the wildly popular US sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004. The series was beloved by millions of fans worldwide, with all the main cast members reuniting in 2021 for a reunion special.
