Friday’s weather had significant impact at the annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee in Selma. Steady rainfall in the Queen City for much of the day — caused some Jubilee events — to be cancelled.
Wallace Community College Selma hosted the Education Summit — attended by over a hundred area 11th and 12th graders. “So today we are looking for students to leave here, first of all feeling like they are a part of the solution, and also feeling like they have an idea of what a solution towards change looks like for them,” said Summit Coordinator Candice Pettaway.
“So if public funds are to be used, all of the public funds need to go to public schools. So, the public schools can do better.”
