A major search of bushland and a river is underway in Tasmania for a 14-year-old girl who was last seen alive almost three months ago, with police committed to locating the teen.

More than 100 police recruits, 20 trained search and rescue members, 20 SES workers, helicopters, motorbikes, all-terrain vehicles, drones, volunteers on horses and a specialist cadaver dog flown in from New South Wales are part of the efforts. "In recent weeks, we’ve successfully identified all the vehicles of interest that were captured on CCTV in the Henry Street area, travelling towards Launceston, around 9pm on 30 April when Shyanne-Lee was last seen," Det Act Insp Hanson said. Shyanne was last seen wearing a cream coloured hooded jumper - with dark writing on the chest and shoulder - and bike shorts.
