Viral NJ town hall menace breakdances during local town hall meeting
A man in New Jersey running for a committee in his township crashed a town hall meeting by bizarrely slipping into a sloppy breakdance routine before delivering a tirade against increased taxes — a stunt he regularly performs at the public hearings.
Will Thilly, a resident of the township of Cranford, sashayed up to the podium during a town hall meeting on Tuesday, but stopped a few feet away and tried to breakdance. Confounded witnesses clamped their hands over their mouths as they tried not to laugh, while others had to look away. Will Thilly started to breakdance at a town hall meeting in New Jersey and ended his speech by moonwalking away.He carried on for almost a whole minute, bopping along to nothing but the tune of his own shoes skidding against the floor. Then, he finally finished his painstaking trek to the podium — before letting out an exasperated sigh and jogging back to grab his paper and water. Anyone here afraid of flying?” Thilly asked. His flubbed crowd work attempts were consistently met with silence. He asked the mum crowd if anyone wanted to watch him do a backspin — and performed one despite no one responding, the footage shows. After spinning repeatedly on his bottom with his legs in the air like an overturned turtle, he tried to signal for applause. No one in the audience so much as budged.“Why did our taxes go up so much?” he asked plainly. Thilly has dedicated much of his public advocacy — and campaign for a seat on the Cranford Township Committee — to discussing local tax hikes and making developers pay their fair share. The town approved a referendum in January that allotted $55 million in funds to local schools, which Thilly believes was necessary “because developers are contributing nothing to our educational system,” he wrote on his “So I wanted to know why it went up, if it did that and what extra expenses were incurred by the schools that weren’t told to the public when we voted on that referendum?” Thilly asked. Thilly added that his taxes went up by around $900 and that residents were told the increase was “from the schools or something.”His previous town hall appearances included attempts to sway wealthy developers into paying their own taxes instead of pushing the extra costs onto residents and trying to build community by encouraging other attendants to be friends with one another. Thilly noted that the only reason he started dancing on Tuesday was to help officials see the residents as “friends and equals.”Brand new $1M luxury yacht tips over and sinks just minutes after launching — forcing crew to jump overboard Furious homeowner says her insurance company flew a drone over her house and refused renewal -- for 1 minor reasonRep.
