A French court on Thursday sentenced Dominique Pelicot to a maximum 20 years of imprisonment for raping his wife, Gisèle Pelicot, and orchestrating the sexual assault of her by dozens of strangers he recruited online. Pelicot was found guilty of all charges against him. Aged 72, it will likely mean he spends the rest of his life in prison. The sentence against Pelicot was handed down after a nearly four-month-long trial where the evidence was made public.
