Fans can avoid traffic congestion and get free tickets to the Navy All-American Bowl and the San Antonio Sports All-Star game by using VIA Metropolitan Transit's Park & Ride service.
The nation's best high school football players will descend on the Alamodome Saturday to compete in a prestigious game whose alumni include 18 Heisman finalists and 93 Super Bowl champions. More than 25,000 fans are expected to pack into the Alamodome Saturday for the Navy All-American Bowl, swarming the parking lots and swelling traffic jams.
But fans who ride VIA Metropolitan Transit's Park & Ride to the game can help alleviate the congestion and score free tickets to the Navy Bowl and the following San Antonio Sports All-Star game. Fans can ditch their cars and hop on a bus at the Crossroads Park & Ride at 151 Crossroads Blvd, where they will receive free tickets to the games. The buses will head out to the Alamodome for the Navy All-American Bowl from 10 a.m. until the game kicks off at noon. Bus service will restart an hour after the game ends to return fans to their cars. While riders will have to pay $2.60 for a round-trip ride, fans will still enjoy a steep discount since Navy All-American Bowl tickets sell for $15. The process will be similar for the San Antonio Sports All-Star game that starts at 5 p.m. Buses will depart from the Crossroads Park & Ride from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will resume return service an hour after the game ends
