The Orange International Street Fair returns to Old Towne Orange from Aug. 29 through Aug. 31. Yes, it’s the final weekend of the official summer season, so let’s get out there and have some fun. And, no, it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.
Here are things you can do that cost nothing at all!Tijuana Dogs will headline a Farewell to Summer Concert at Marine Stadium in Long Beach on Friday, Aug. 29. from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 29 at Marine Stadium, 5255 Paoli Way. Bring lawn chairs, picnic and a blanket.summer ends this weekend at the Off Boardwalk Theater near the Funnel House. The Natasha Remi Band will perform from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, with JLB Musica following from 6 to 10 p.m. Catfish and Hollywood Hound Dogs will play blues from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. In the Red will perform a set of pop and rock tunes from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1. All performances are at 429 Shoreline Village Drive. Free admission but parking rates apply. This month’s selection is Christopher Marlowe’s “Doctor Faustus” written around 1590. It deals with the devil, so it might be scary for some kids. The show starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, Saturday, Aug. 30 and Sunday, Aug. 31. General admission seating at the Dell atop the Old Zoo. Bring a picnic, blanket or low-back chairs. No booze or dogs. This free street fair in Old Towne Orange has been running every Labor Day weekend since 1973 and it’s quite a thing, so prepare to hunt for parking. Entertainment on seven stages, arts and crafts, kids fun, 15 international food streets. The festival is the blocks surrounding the plaza. Hours are 5-10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.will feature concerts on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Erin O’Neill performs from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 at Mountain Grove Food Court, 27511 San Bernardino Ave. Saint will perform at the food court at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. Woody & the Harrelsons will play from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept.1 at the Citrus Plaza Food Court, 27510 Lugonia Ave.. Sponsored by Mountain Grove and Citrus Plaza Shopping Centers. Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road.from 3 to 5 p.m. This is an easy 2.5-mile family hike at Laguna Coast Wilderness Park to Barbara’s Lake and back. There’s uneven terrain and 45 foot elevation gain. Wear closed-toed shoes, a hat and bring plenty of water. For ages 6 and up, and kids need a parent or guardian with them.
