Freeman is only the seventh Dodger since the team moved to Los Angeles to have a 200-hit season, the first since Adrian Beltre in 2004
LOS ANGELES — It left his bat at 80 mph, bouncing along the grass on the right side of the infield, not one of Freddie Freeman’s most well-struck balls. But it reached the outfield grass – as so many balls off Freeman’s bat have this season.
Since the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles, Freeman is the seventh player to record 200 hits in a season, joining Beltre, Mike Piazza, Steve Sax, Maury Wills, Tommy Davis and Steve Garvey . That was enough offense for the Giants on a night when left-hander Sean Manaea took a healthy bite out of his career 9.00 ERA against the Dodgers.
