Fred VanVleet has found his landing spot.
on June 12, creating intrigue throughout the league as one of the top players to enter the free agent pool.
In the past seven seasons, VanVleet has made a name for himself and become more of a force as he’s matured in the league. In 2019, he won his first NBA championship with Toronto and then earned his first All-Star nod during the 2021-22 season after averaging 20.3 points per game. Earlier this year, VanVleet thought he was playing above his contract and indicated he wouldn’t sign an extension based off previous assessments of his play.“I felt like I’ve outplayed that contract thus far. So just trying to get myself in a position to put the cards in their hands,” VanVleet “Without going too far into it … [I’m] just trying to put myself in a good position business-wise, and not take an extension on a deal that was made three or four years ago.
