and putting the body of the Tudor onto its chassis isn't as straightforward as you think. The Tudor needed to be shortened seven inches to fit correctly. Then there is the minor detail that the Ford is a body-on-frame vehicle, while the BMW enjoys modern unibody construction. Cutting away major portions of the 330i's body, such as the roof and the rocker panels invariably reduces the platform's rigidity.
Fortunately, the team thought of all that and added a temporary structure to keep the BMW's chassis straight as all of those parts were removed. Adding back the Tudor body panels also built that rigidity back into the BMW chassis. The Ford body was then stripped of its original paint, leaving bare metal with black-painted trim around the headlights, grille, splitter, side sills, rear wing, and the hole in the hood for the turbo to poke through.
While this Tudor won't be winning any beauty contests, it will be winning the hearts of garage builders everywhere. It goes to show that, with a lot of work and some forethought, you can make any body fit on any chassis. You just can't be afraid to cut and weld everything back in place—and, well, a ton of effort.
