He has returned East partly to visit his estranged son Freddy , who dropped out of Harvard to become a firefighter.Freddy is sharing an apartment with a barmaid/aspiring actor Eve and resents his father’s disapproval of his career choice. Meanwhile newcomer Anders Keith plays Frasier’s oddball teenage nephew David who has enrolled at Harvard.
Over the five episodes made available for preview, it becomes clear that Alan – a fellow snobbish sophisticate with whom Frasier can engage in playful sniping – is supposed to act as a replacement for the absent Niles. They even get to talk to each other in Latin. Jack Cutmore-Scott as Freddy Crane, Anders Keith as David and Kelsey Grammer as Frasier Crane in 2004. Now 19, he shares some of his mother’s attributes, mainly a talent for off-kilter observations. .
