A Texas judge set the bond for one of the murder suspects accused in the killing of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found in a creek last week.
The bail was set at $10 million for Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, a Venezuelan migrant, who is accused of tying up Pena-Ramos appeared before Harris County District Court Judge Josh Hill on Monday in a yellow county jail jumpsuit in shackles.
Pena-Ramos and another man from Venezuela , Johan Jose Rangel-Martinez, were arrested on Thursday and charged with capitol murder over the girl's death. She explained that both men could be eligible for the death penalty pending the victim's autopsy or if the investigation determined that Nungaray was kidnapped.Her mother, other loved ones and the community have been in mourning.
