Franklin farmer attacked twice in one week, security officer shot, 6 arrested SouthAfrica via SATodayNews

The farmer, on Newlands Farm, was also forced to open his safe by five attackers posing as police officers on the night of 8 February 2023.

On that occasion the suspects, wearing civilian clothes, had on reflective jackets with POLICE on the back. They were all armed, some with R5 rifles. On 14 February 2023, Magma Security received a call from the farmer who was being attacked for the second time. When the farm security arrived on the scene they were met with gunfire, with one of their members getting shot and injured.

The district head of Harry Gwala Cluster mobilised surrounding units and together with various security companies and farmers in the area the roads were blocked off.In the abandoned vehicle police reflector jackets were found.The investigation into the two attacks are ongoing.
