After years of stagnating, the director has finally gotten his passion project off the ground, and the first public audience will soon get to see the film - Megalopolis will premiere in competition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 17, according to Deadline.
Plot details remain thin, but according to a logline from Coppola, "The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius, and conflicted love." The film stars Driver as Caesar, an architect who looks to rebuild an alternate version of New York City following a devastating accident. Caesar will go head-to-head with the mayor, Frank , while Emmanuel portray's the mayor's daughter, Julia.
