, and American Frances Tiafoe has every right to feel a bit slighted by the tennis gods. Tiafoe — the No. 10 seed at Wimbledon who is listed 50/1 at BetMGM to win the tournament — will take on the ascendant Yibing Wu in Round 1 of the year’s third major. Tiafoe is still a decent favorite at -255, but Wu was one of the unseeded players to avoid on Day 1 of your Wimbledon.Yibing Wu of Peoples Republic of ChinaIt may be a bit odd to put Tiafoe on upset watch so early in Wimbledon since he’s hardly put a foot wrong in 2023 and just won a title on the grass at Stuttgart, but this is more about the upside of Wu than a fade of the American.
Wu has shown to enjoy quick conditions and has shown well in the grass with a couple of wins over experienced players like Nick Kyrgios and Marton Fucsovics. Wu lost his last two matches on the lawn, but he took a set off of world No. 7 Andrey Rublev and lost two tiebreakers to the always-dangerous Miomir Kecmanovic.
